We started using Independent Air a couple years ago. They fixed a very old ac that was on its lasts leg. We were grateful that our ac lasted about 2 more years.
It gave us some time to budget for a new system.

The quote I received was significantly higher than other quotes, but the diagnosis fee was fair. The technician who came did try everything in his arsenal before jumping to a conclusion, and he was able to show his work.

For reference, we were quoted 2250 for an in warranty compressor replacement on a Bryant unit, which is pretty high considering other quotes came in at least $500 cheaper with no cost for diagnosis. However I'm leaving 5 stars because they were very easy to deal with, and I appreciate the efforts of the technician. There's no reason to knock someone because their prices are higher than someone else's.

Terrible. Had to call them out emergently when getting flooring installed when we found that out AC unit had leaked and ruined subfloor.
Ernesto, the lead tech, assured us it was an old leak, cleaned out coils, blew out condensation line, tried MULTIPLE TIMES to sell us a service agreement (while our whole floor is being ripped up) and $370 later went on his way.
Fast forward 8 weeks later we notice our flooring starting to buckle up a bit.
Call flooring guys back out..rip up brand new flooring only to discover exact same problem. Brand new subfloor destroyed.
Call this company again, ask for owner.
Owner Joe comes out and swears it's not the AC unit and recommends a plumber. Says NAYBE he can get someone to crawl under house to check condensation pipe three days kater. Leaves

Call plumber who crawls under and confirms it is a leaking condensation pipe.
Call Joe back, who argues that it can't be, but he will come check later.
Comes to check later, is shown PICTURES of the leaking pipe that the plumber took, still swears that's not it.
Was extremely rude too but husband.
I'll never use them again. We are new to the area and my nextdoor neighbor recommended them.
After telling her all of this, she confirmed that they screwed up her job and had to fix it again after Joe gave her a hard time.
She has a service agreement with them and I see her unit leaking all over outside.

it never fails. the air conditioner does not go out during regular business hours. Friday afternoon late the air quit running a quick call to Independent air and they said they couldn't get there today but they would be here first thing Saturday. they arrive promptly, diagnosed the problem and had me up and running before lunch. Nice job guys. I do appreciate the service.

I am beyond grateful and happy with Independent Air who replaced our current Heat Pump. Shakori came out to understand what we wanted to replace and provided options and guidance. He was patient as I continually texted him with additional follow up questions. He was very responsive and provided the guidance and answers I needed. The installation date was scheduled quickly. On the installation date, Denni and Kary came out. Both were courteous and worked quickly and efficiently. The biggest superstar was Ernesto, who came out to make sure everything was installed correctly. He stayed late to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. His attention to detail and work ethic is applauded. He is definitely an asset to the team. Isabel in the office is always pleasant and helpful when I call. I have used Independent Air for the maintenance of my system and will continue to be a happy and grateful customer.

Had a new AC unit installed unfortunately it did not work. Ernesto did his very best in trying to resolve the issues with the AC. He put in his time and effort to make sure the new ac functioned. Instead another new AC unit was installed and is working great! My thanks to Ernesto for his hard work and dedication to the job! Very pleased with Independent Air and their professionalism!

I had an extremely positive experience with Independant Air. I called on a Sunday morning and a technician, Aurelio, arrived earlier than expected. He diagnosed my issue and repaired the problem. My only issue would be the price I was charged for the replacement part. But I guess that is the price one pays for immediate, quality service.

This company is the best! When my mother's A/C stopped working, she automatically thought that whomever I reached out to would #1, charge more for a weekend appointment, and #2, try to rip her off. Independent A/C did neither! They were honest, professional and thorough with their work. I can tell by the rep they sent out that Independent Air is a quality company! I highly recommend them for anyone's A/C needs!

Ask for someone to come out and check out the AC it was not working properly and also wanted an estimate to replace the unit however the technician that came out could not even clean the unit cuz he didn't have the stuff with him to clean the coils nor could he give me an estimate to replace the unit I have never worked with an AC company that you had to schedule someone to come out different from a service tech to get an estimate to replace a unit

I called for and made an appointment for three things:
1. Service
2. Check the overall airflow,
3. Quote for a mini-split.
I waited a week for someone to Just had a horrible experience with Independent Air. The previous owner has a maintenance contract through the end of 2024.
I called for 1. Service, 2. Check the overall airflow, 3. Quote for a mini-split. I waited a week for someone to come out.
The tech gets here and says he can check the unit in general for $89.00. But I need to make another appointment for the service and he can’t tell me about the mini-split, that’s another person and yet another appointment. 🤬
I told him no to everything.

Arrived as scheduled. Quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Would definitely use them again.

EDIT: After receiving my invoice along with a quote for additional work, I thought the price of a part seemed rather high. I was charged $258 for a part that cost $15-$20 anywhere. Their reasons for charging this price was ridiculous.
One of the 4 items on the quote was to clean a condenser coil. The quote was $175. A simple Youtube search revealed the extremely easy procedure to clean the coil. After purchasing a $12 can of coil cleaner at Home Depot, I completed the job in about 20 minutes. My original comment still stands although I will NOT use them again based on this crazy price gouging. There are 2 items on the estimate that another company said I didn't need. I used this other company. The other company performed the needed service for $69. Independent's quote was $872.50 for all the services they said I needed.

We have been Independent customers since 2011. The company has installed new ducts in our 1989 home, a mini split for our sunroom, and upgraded our heat pump when the old unit needed replaced. That upgrade included a Reme Halo air purifier. Additionally the firm services our two units twice a year. I highly commend the excellent support and service they provide! This was the fourth time using them but first time at my condo. First three visits were 5 stars. Nice and knowledgeable techs. Fair price and quick repairs.

This occasion my AC wasn’t blowing cold air. Tech arrived and after looking at the compressor unit on the roof for over 2 hours stated that unit wasn’t get power. Long story short, he finally found out that the low voltage wire from the thermostat side that was connected to the compressor unit had come loose. He reconnected the wire and started working fine. The issue I had was the final bill. I thought it might be the service call fee and something added for reconnecting the wire. Needless to say it was a lot more. I shared my feelings on the bill with the tech but paid the bill so he could leave. I texted the company with my concerns. First thing next morning, they called me and discussed my concerns. We came to an agreement on an acceptable amount to both side’s satisfaction. I appreciated their willingness to listen and address the fairness of what was charged for what was done. I give Independent 5 stars for customer service in addressing my issues. Will continue to call them for all my AC issues.

Was having problems with elderly parents AC. Called another company first and they failed to diagnose problem. They said I needed new AC. Called Independent AC they came out and in short time found cause of the problem fixed it and the AC has been working fine now more than one year later. I have been using Independent Air for at least 15 years along with a couple of other family members. I want to give 5 stars, but I recently received information from one of the techs that the wiring is incorrect and they cannot remove the outside breaker to cut power and have to go to the breaker box instead. This is the company that installed the new AC and if it is wrong, they did it. I spoke with the office and they want to charge me for fixing it and I am not paying extra for it. After all these years, I truly would expect different behavior for this. Not enough to leave, but enough to cross t’s and dot i’s better next time.

Arrived on a Saturday, at 12 midnight, to a temperature of 94 degrees in our villa! A real person answered the phone at 2 AM, and were out the next day (Sunday) and repaired our unit. We've never had a negative experience with Independent Air, and have been using them for probably 10 years now.

When a powerful storm hit Tampa last month the lighting took out my Air Conditioner and half my circuits. My firend recommened Independent. They responded quickly and fixed the unit within a few days (had to order some parts) They send me a very detailed report so I could send it to TECO since I have a Zap Cap and needed them to put specific information on my bill.

Our air conditioner chose to stop cooling on a Saturday evening during excessive heat warning days. I called Independent Air Conditioning on Sunday morning hoping they did service calls on Sundays. Fortunately they did and I had an appointment for a technician between 2 and 6. They have an excellent communication system in place and we received a text and a phone call informing us when the technician was on his way to our residence. He was even early for the appointment which was greatly appreciated since we were quite warm by that time. The issue was diagnosed very quickly and the part replaced before our actual scheduled appointment time. Aurelio was very considerate and knowledgeable. The rate was reasonable and we couldn't be happier. Definitely recommend if you need service.

My AC stopped working while I was out of town. My neighbors had been keeping an eye on the house & noticed a problem w/AC not cooling. They recommend I call Independent Air Conditioning. I was able to schedule an appointment the following Monday. Unfortunately there were a number of emergency AC issues for people in their homes so I was rescheduled for the following day. Aurelia sent a message saying he was several minutes away. He evaluated & diagnosed my AC problem & call me with his recommendation and quote. He had the parts & after receiving my ok completed the service call. I’ll be keeping this AC service company’s number and share it with others! Thank you!

Independent Air is the only company I will use for my HVAC needs. They are professional and accommodate MY schedule instead of me having to accommodate theirs. I have the maintenance agreement which gets my system checked twice year to keep it in good working order. If I have an issue, they come right away to get the AC working again. I recently had to replace the mini-split in my master bedroom and they came on-time, got the work done, and cleaned up. You can't go wrong hiring Independent Air.

My A/C went out the evening before Father’sDay. I called first thing in the morning expecting to be put off until Monday. To my surprise I was added to the schedule that day and my A/C system was up and running within a few hours. Independent Air went above and beyond my expectations. My Carrier system is 4 years old and recently I used Independent Air who was referred by another AC company and my handyman, when my system stopped working on a late Friday.
They came and worked on the system
Found the problem, fixed everything and were exceptional. I signed a yearly contract with them.
Knowing I needed ductwork their Representative came, went over everything and have finished the work. I now have everything done with a company I can trust. The work performed was thorough and they cleaned everything out and cleaned up after all their work.
I’m so glad I found an honest, hardworking Company. They’re family owned.

We had Independent Air come and inspect our Havc system. Their tech Ernesto was very thorough. After checking the unit and the air handler he found everything was working fine but the duct tape on the joints of the ductwork was not sealing properly. He gave us a fair estimate and we had him fix it while he was here. Setting up the appointment was easy and Ernesto let us know that he was on his way. We are very satisfied with Independent Air and recommend them for all heating and air conditioning systems.

Joe and his employees always do the very best work on our heating and AC system. They are very professional, take care not to soil our house when they work, and give the best service. Their annual maintenance contract definitely saves us money if any extra work needs to be done. I could not be more thrilled about my new heat pump installation from Independent Air Conditioning. The communication with this company is excellent. The installation went perfectly, and Jerry, Denny and Pete did a herculean job battling the 120° in the attic. Thank you guys so much.

It’s only been 24 hours since the installation, but there is a remarkable improvement from our last installation in the efficiency of cooling throughout the house. It’s almost as if your indoor climate control is quietly working in the background and you barely notice it.

I would highly recommend Independent Air Conditioning to anyone looking for competent and honest professionals. They are top notch.

INTEGRITY—HONESTY—TRUSTWORTHY

These are the words that come to mind after came back after installation to do some fine-tuning of my new air-conditioning system. I have a particularly difficult attic, so some further work was necessary to ensure humidity levels in my home were at their proper levels.

Ernesto, who is one of the technicians at Independent air conditioning spent a couple days ensuring that everything was functioning properly and to the manufacture specifications. I can’t speak more highly about Ernesto and his knowledge, skills and ability to troubleshoot problems. He is probably one of the best technicians I have ever had in my home.

As my above review states, Independent air conditioning is a company that you can fully trust for all of your environmental needs when it comes to cooling and heating. Their honesty and integrity is beyond reproach.

Best air conditioning company I have ever used!! (I've owned my home for 30 years). We have done business with Independent Air as they were the company that had installed the AC unit prior to our purchasing our home. We have been extremely pleased with their service. During my annual service I ordered an Ecobee thermostat that was installed quickly and the technician showed me how to set the app on my phone. Several days later I was out of town and received an alert that there was an issue with the temperature in my house, so I called and Joe had a technician at my house that afternoon who diagnosed the problem and got my old unit up and running like new. I came home from vacation to a nice cool house thanks to Joe and his excellent professional staff!
